Introduction

The course aims to provide basic awareness of the risks while carrying out short duration activities and focuses on the Working at Height Regulation 2005, including introduction to the safe use of steps and ladders at work.

It will introduce the employer and employees duties for the use of work equipment and explain the relevant legislation as well as the responsibilities that these bring.

There will be a detailed explanation of the different working at heights situations in the delegates working environment, types of steps & ladders, their components and maintenance requirements and how to identify faults.

Practical sessions include safe setting up of steps & ladders and considerations to take into account of the working environment. (No climbing will be involved)

This will include the hierarchy of the law and so introduces the responsibilities for risk assessment prior to starting work.
