ILM Level 3 and Level 5 qualifications in Leadership and Management are designed for different levels of management experience, across all industries. Level 3 is aimed at first-line managers and supervisors, while Level 5 is for middle managers and those aspiring to senior roles.

ILM LEVEL 3:

  • Target Audience: First-line managers, supervisors, and team leaders, or those who are taking their first steps into management.
  • Focus: Developing fundamental leadership and management skills, such as communication, delegation, and team motivation.
  • Example Roles: Team leaders, supervisors, and junior managers. 

ILM Level 3 in Leadership and Management Units and Dates:

For the ILM Level 3 Award, you need to complete a minimum of 4 credits

For the ILM Level 3 Certificate, you need to complete a minimum of 13 credits

All courses are available face to face or virtually through Zoom.

ILM LEVEL 5:

  • Target Audience: Practicing middle managers, project managers, and department heads seeking to expand their skills and advance their careers. 
  • Focus: Developing strategic leadership, organisational effectiveness, and change management skills. 
  • Example Roles: Middle managers, department heads, and project managers. 
  • In essence: If you're new to management or a first-line manager, Level 3 is a good starting point. If you're a middle manager looking to develop your strategic leadership skills, Level 5 is more appropriate.

ILM Level 5 in Leadership and Management Units and Dates:

For the ILM Level 5 Award, you need to complete a minimum of 4 credits.

For the ILM Level 5 Certificate, you need to complete a minimum of 13 credits.

For the ILM Level 5 Diploma, you need to complete a minimum of 37 credits.
